The Halifax County Comets basketball squad (South Boston, VA), lost 79-61 in Friday's league battle with the host Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA)

With the victory, Bassett advances its record to 6-14 on the year. The Bengals travel to Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA) to meet the Phoenix in a Piedmont battle on Monday, February 10. The Phoenix enter the battle with a record of 11-7. Mecklenburg County won 71-59 in their recent league battle against Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA)

The Comets now own a 12-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Magna Vista for a Piedmont battle on Monday, February 10. Halifax County will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 60-49 league loss to George Washington (Danville, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 4-16.
