Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), 51-17 in a league match.

With the victory, Union Academy advances its record to 10-0 on the year. The Cardinals travel to Albemarle (Albemarle, NC) to face the Bulldogs in a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley match on Thursday, January 9. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 9-3. Albemarle won 65-18 in their recent league match against South Stanly (Norwood, NC)

The Comets now own a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Rowan for a non-league match on Thursday, January 9. North Stanly will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 66-63 league loss to West Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 2-7.
