Spring Lions (Spring, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Aldine Mustangs (Houston, TX), 49-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Spring upgrades its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Nimitz (Houston, TX) to play the Cougars in a 6A Region II District 14 bout on Wednesday, January 12. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 13-9. Nimitz won 58-22 in their recent league bout against Benjamin Davis (Houston, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Westfield Mustangs (Houston, TX) in a 6A Region II District 14 bout, on Wednesday, January 12. Aldine will attempt to upgrade on its 4-18 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 66-25 league win over Dekaney (Houston, TX).
