January 8, 2025: Florence, SC 29501 Sumter Gamecocks (Sumter, SC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host West Florence Knights (Florence, SC), 68-49 in a league match.
With the victory, Sumter advances its record to 8-8 on the year. The Gamecocks host Blythewood (Blythewood, SC) to face the Bengals in a AAAAA Region 5 match on Tuesday, January 14. The Bengals enter the match with a record of 14-3. Blythewood won 91-50 in their recent league match against West Florence (Florence, SC)
The Knights now own a 1-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Blythewood for a AAAAA Region 5 match on Thursday, January 9. West Florence will face a Bengals squad coming off a 72-56 league win over Lugoff-Elgin (Lugoff, SC). The Bengals record now stands at 13-3.
