Illinois High School Basketball - Clinton fells Monticello
January 9, 2024: Monticello, IL 61856 Clinton Maroons (Clinton, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL), 63-50 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Clinton upgrades its record to 17-1 on the season. The Maroons host Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IL) to clash with the Rams in a Central Illinois bout on Friday, January 12. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 14-4. Shelbyville won 63-48 in their recent non-league bout against Marshall (Marshall, IL)
Next up, the Sages clash with the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints (Bloomington, IL) in a Illini Prairie bout, on Friday, January 12. Monticello will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Saints go into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 66-64 non-league loss to Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL).
