Texas High School Basketball - Rice ripped by Kemp
January 9, 2024: Kemp, TX 75143 The Kemp Yellowjackets basketball team scored 78 points and held the visiting Rice Bulldogs to 42 in the Yellowjackets league triumph on Tuesday.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 5-18 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Malakoff for a 3A Region III District 18 contest on Friday, January 12. Kemp will battle a Tigers team coming off a 53-34 league loss to Palmer (Palmer, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 2-3.
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats (Scurry, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 bout, on Friday, January 12. Rice will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 62-38 league win over Mildred (Corsicana, TX).
