Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX), 56-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Pioneer upgrades its record to 14-10 on the season. The Diamondbacks travel to Rowe (McAllen, TX) to play the Warriors in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout on Friday, January 12. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 17-9. Rowe lost 70-36 in their recent league bout against McAllen (McAllen, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines (Alamo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout, on Friday, January 12. Valley View will attempt to upgrade on its 9-17 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 12-13 record after their 51-39 league win over Sharyland (Mission, TX).
