Iowa High School Basketball - Prairie City-Monroe toppled by Montezuma
January 9, 2025: Montezuma, IA 50171 Montezuma Braves (Montezuma, IA) supporters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad prevail over the visiting Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs (Monroe, IA), 67-55 in a non-league battle.
With the victory, Montezuma advances its record to 10-1 on the year. The Braves travel to Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, IA) to meet the Plainsmen in a South Iowa Cedar battle on Friday, January 10. The Plainsmen enter the battle with a record of 3-8. Belle Plaine won 46-43 in their recent league battle against Colfax-Mingo (Colfax, IA)
The Mustangs now own a 4-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Earlham for a non-league battle on Monday, January 13. Prairie City-Monroe will meet a Cardinals squad coming off a 62-58 league loss to Des Moines Christian (Des Moines, IA). The Cardinals record now stands at 6-3.
