In Friday's league test, the Central Lions (Carrollton, GA) basketball squad defeated the host Northside Patriots (Columbus, GA), by a score of 68-59.

Next, the Lions clash with the Griffin Bears (Griffin, GA) in a AAAA Region 3 test, on Saturday, January 10. Central will attempt to improve on its 8-8 season record. The Bears come into the test with a 14-1 record after their 64-51 league win over Mundy's Mill (Jonesboro, GA).

With the loss, Northside falls to 1-13 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Starr's Mill (Fayetteville, GA) to play the Panthers in a AAAA Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 13.
