North Carolina High School Volleyball - East Wilkes bounced by Ashe County

Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the host East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Huskies (20-7) will now prepare for their challenge against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Blackhawks enter the Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A challenge with a 7-8 record. In their last challenge, West Wilkes beat Elkin (Elkin, NC), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals meet the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, October 6. East Wilkes will attempt to upgrade on its 5-14 season record. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a 13-6 record after their 3-2 league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).
