October 3, 2025: Lordsburg, NM 88045 The Lordsburg Mavericks football squad scored 52 points and limited the visiting Mescalero Apache Chiefs to 0 in the Mavericks league triumph on Friday.
The Mavericks now hold a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hagerman/Lake Arthur for a 8-Man District 3 (8 Man) challenge on Friday, October 10. Lordsburg will face a Bobcats team coming off a 52-0 league loss to Tatum (Tatum, NM). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-2.
The Chiefs (1-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Melrose (Melrose, NM). The Buffaloes go into the 8-Man District 3 (8 Man) challenge with a 5-2 record. In their last challenge, Melrose bounced Gateway Christian (Roswell, NM), 48-6, in a league challenge.
