The Northwestern Area Wildcats volleyball squad (Mellette, SD), was edged 2-1 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Roncalli Cavaliers (Aberdeen, SD)

With the win, Roncalli improves its record to 9-6 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to Britton-Hecla (Britton, SD) to encounter the Braves in a A Region 1 battle on Thursday, October 9. The Braves enter the contest with a record of 10-8.

Next, the Wildcats meet the Groton Tigers (Groton, SD) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, October 4. Northwestern Area will attempt to move on its 21-2 season record. The Tigers enter the contest with a 9-3 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Great Plains Lutheran (Watertown, SD).
