North Carolina High School Football - Alexander Central can't get by Watauga
October 6, 2023: Boone, NC 28607 Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 41-34 in a league test.
With the triumph, Watauga improves its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to confront the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, October 13. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 3-4. Hibriten lost 90-2 in their recent league test against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC)
With the loss, Alexander Central drops to 3-4 on the campaign. The Cougars host South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to confront the Spartans in a Northwestern 3A/4A battle on Friday, October 13. The Spartans go into the battle with a record of 3-4. South Caldwell lost 37-30 in their recent league battle against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
