The Mahanoy Area Golden Bears football team (Mahanoy City, PA), was beaten 49-41 in Friday's league challenge with the host Williams Valley Vikings (Tower City, PA)

The Vikings (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Marian Catholic (Tamaqua, PA). The come into the Colonial-Schuylkill - Blue challenge with a 5-2 record. In their last challenge, Marian Catholic achieved victory over Shenandoah Valley (Shenandoah, PA), 30-0, in a league challenge.

The Golden Bears now sport a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they host Tri-Valley for a Colonial-Schuylkill - Blue challenge on Friday, October 13.
