October 7, 2022: Taylorsville, NC 28681 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), observed Watauga's football squad defeat Alexander Central by a count of 34-20.
The Pioneers now own a 6-1 record. They play next when they host Hibriten for a 3A/4A West Conference 52 contest on Friday, October 14. Watauga will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 63-40 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 3-4.
