In Tuesday's league match, the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) volleyball squad prevailed the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a final score of 3-0.

Next up, the Cougars confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a Northwestern 6A/7A match, on Thursday, October 9. Alexander Central will attempt to advance on its 14-6 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 3-1 league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).

With the loss, Freedom drops to 3-17 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to McDowell (Marion, NC) to clash with the Titans in a Northwestern 6A/7A bout on Thursday, October 9.
