Virginia High School Soccer - Carlisle trounced by New Covenant
October 10, 2023: Axton, VA 24054 In Tuesday's league game, the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) soccer squad overwhelmed the host Carlisle Chiefs (Axton, VA), by a final score of 7-0.
The Gryphons (10-3) will now prepare for their game against North Cross (Roanoke, VA). The Raiders go into the Blue Ridge Athletic game with a 11-0 record. In their last game, North Cross nipped Blue Ridge (St. George, VA), 2-1, in a league challenge.
The Chiefs now possess a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southwest Virginia Academy for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 12. Carlisle will confront a Conquerors team coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Westover Christian Academy (Danville, VA). The Conquerors record now stands at 1-4.
