Wesson Cobras (Wesson, MS) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the visiting Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS), 49-41 in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cobras play the Amite County Trojans (Liberty, MS) in a 2A Region 7 challenge, on Friday, October 17. Wesson will attempt to improve on its 7-0 season record. The Trojans go into the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 20-8 league win over Wilkinson County (Woodville, MS).

The Hornets (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Enterprise (Brookhaven, MS). The Yellowjackets come into the 2A Region 7 test with a 1-6 record. In their last test, Enterprise went down by Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS), 38-16, in a non-league test.
