Match Summary
The Vipers led throughout the entire first set. The Cougars were determined to not let the deficit get out of hand. Darla Wiltz swung away at a 4 for 11 .364 clip, easily the best offensive output for Lake Balboa so far, but she fought alone. 5 other hitters were either at .000 or worse. We lost but LBCP finally figured how to be become competitive if everybody went all out. Set 2: The teams battled through the middle points before Lake Balboa took their first lead of the day at 14-13. The choir began to sing in Latin & the flowers began to bloom. The offense became relentless, fueled by defense & passing that would not yield. Darla, Athena, & Maneh launched 34 attacks but were barely positive against a stubborn Ortho defense. Alice Moussiesse went nuclear. A .545 blast with 6 kills in 11 swings. The defense was spectacular: Maneh Parsadanyan 17 digs, Molly Yeagley 16 digs, 51 for the 2 game team total. The passing was air tight. These are the components of victory. Fight on big Lake!
