Ohio High School Volleyball - Perrysburg over Northview
October 13, 2022: Perrysburg, OH 43551 Perrysburg Yellow Jackets (Perrysburg, OH) supporters left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad top the visiting Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH), 3-1 in a league match.
With the loss, Northview drops to 17-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Magnificat (Rocky River, OH) to clash with the Blue Streaks in a non-league match on Saturday, October 15. The Blue Streaks come into the match with a record of 19-2. Magnificat won 3-0 in their recent non-league match against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (Chardon, OH)
Match Summary
PERRYSBURG - The NLL Championship came down to Northview (12-1) vs. Perrysburg (11-2) for either a share of the title or an outright victory for the Wildcats on Thursday night and Perrysburg was able to secure a share of the title. This is the first NLL Championship for Northview since 2015 now 17-4 (12-2 NLL).
Leading for Northview was lead offensively by junior setter, Natalie Kerchevall, with 12 kills, hitting .462 with 20 assists and 7 digs for the Cats. Senior outside hitters, Kam Hunt and Sydney Hires both had team high 13 kills hitting .125 and .250 respectively and Hunt was able to produce a double-double with 16 digs. Junior middle blocker, Claire Smith, added 6 crucial kills, hitting .250 and freshman middle blocker, Lucy Sauer, added 4 blocks. Junior setter, Hannah Schoen added a double-double to her resume with 17 assists and 12 digs. and junior libero, Jordyn Pakulski, added 15 digs.
Northview returns to the court on Saturday for Senior and Parents Day at 1:00 P.M.
