The Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) football nudged the host Hough Huskies (Cornelius, NC), 13-6 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Mavericks face the West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) in a 3A/4A West Conference 60 bout, on Friday, October 21. Mallard Creek will attempt to move on its 6-2 season record. The Hawks enter the bout with a 5-4 record after their 22-6 league win over Hopewell (Huntersville, NC).

The Huskies (6-2) will now prepare for their bout against West Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Wolverines enter the non-league bout with a 0-8 record. In their last bout, West Cabarrus was nudged by Mooresville (Mooresville, NC), 54-7, in a league bout.
