Mountainair Mustangs (Mountainair, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Corona Cardinals (Corona, NM), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs (5-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Quemado (Quemado, NM). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 12-1 record. In their last challenge, Quemado beat Socorro (Socorro, NM), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals play the Alamo Navajo Cougars (Magdalena, NM) in a 1A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, October 21. Corona will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Mountainair (Mountainair, NM).
