Illinois High School Football - Prairie Central can't hold off Monticello

The Monticello Sages held off the host Prairie Central Hawks football squad by a count of 18-14 in Friday's league test.

The Sages now hold a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Paxton-Buckley-Loda for a Illini Prairie challenge on Friday, October 24. Monticello will face a Panthers team coming off a 46-0 league win over Rantoul (Rantoul, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 4-4.

The Hawks (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL). The Saints go into the Illini Prairie challenge with a 8-0 record. In their last challenge, Bloomington Central Catholic nipped Pontiac (Pontiac, IL), 48-21, in a league challenge.
