In Friday's league game, the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) football team were victorious over the visiting Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC), by a tally of 31-14.

In their next game, the Bulldogs face the Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A game, on Friday, October 25. Murphy will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Wildcats enter the game with a 4-3 record after their 28-7 league loss to Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC).

The Maroon Devils (0-7) will now prepare for their game against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves enter the Smoky Mountain 1A game with a 5-3 record. In their last game, Cherokee ran past Hayesville (Hayesville, NC), 22-0, in a league game.
