Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Amory Panthers (Amory, MS) and the host Nettleton Tigers (Nettleton, MS), observed Amory's volleyball team hold off Nettleton by a count of 3-2.

The Panthers (14-11) will now prepare for their test against North Pontotoc (Ecru, MS). The Vikings go into the non-league test with a 8-9 record. In their last test, North Pontotoc was edged by New Albany (New Albany, MS), 3-0, in a league test.

The Tigers now own a 19-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host O'Bannon for a non-league challenge on Saturday, October 4. Nettleton will play a Greenwaves team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to West Bolivar (Rosedale, MS). The Greenwaves record now stands at 7-11.
