Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) followers left the game satisfied Wednesday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the host Rockridge Rockets (Taylor Ridge, IL), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Newman Central Catholic advances its record to 16-18 on the season. The Comets travel to Mendota (Mendota, IL) to face the Trojans in a non-league test on Monday, October 27. The Trojans go into the test with a record of 6-27. Mendota won 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Sandwich (Sandwich, IL)

The Rockets now sport a 10-20 record. They put it on the line next when they host Kewanee for a Three Rivers challenge on Thursday, October 23. Rockridge will play a Boilermakers team coming off a 2-0 league win over Mendota (Mendota, IL). The Boilermakers record now stands at 15-15.
