Georgia High School Football - Washington County nips Southwest

October 23, 2025: Macon, GA 31206

The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Washington County Golden Hawks (Sandersville, GA) and the host Southwest Patriots (Macon, GA), saw Washington County's football team nip Southwest by a final score of 21-14.

With the win, Washington County advances its record to 4-5 on the season. The Golden Hawks host Academy for Classical Education (Macon, GA) to confront the Gryphons in a A D1 Region 2 contest on Friday, October 31. The Gryphons enter the contest with a record of 5-4. Academy for Classical Education lost 48-9 in their recent league contest against Bleckley County (Cochran, GA)

Coming up next, the Patriots confront the Jefferson County Warriors (Louisville, GA) in a A D1 Region 2 contest, on Friday, October 31. Southwest will attempt to better on its 2-7 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 2-7 record after their 14-13 league win over East Laurens (East Dublin, GA).
