Massachusetts High School Volleyball - Pittsfield tips Taconic
October 26, 2023: Pittsfield, MA 01201 The Pittsfield Generals (Pittsfield, MA) volleyball tipped the host Taconic Thunder (Pittsfield, MA), 3-2 in Thursday's league outing.
With the win, Pittsfield upgrades its record to 7-12 on the year.
The Thunder now own a 13-7 record.
Match Summary
We started the night strong with 2 fairly easy wins but PHS came back in the 3rd set holding us to 17 for a pretty easy victory. We regrouped in the 4th set but were 2 points short of ending the night with a win. PHS got of to an early lead of 5 or 6 in the 5th set to 15 but we were able to come back and tie the score at 14-14. We made a few errors in the end, the type of errors that can happen at point within a match, and PHS walked away with a win that will likely take away our home court advantage in the first round of the state tournament next week.
Natalia Dos Santos had an outstanding night tonight with 37 digs, 3 aces on no serving errors, 2 kills off swings from the back court and 2 assists. Her "next play" and "I want every ball" attitude was really impressive and motivating. Some of the plays she made and balls that she got to were absolutely insane! She does things that are mind blowing, her speed, strength, desire, agility and skill really need to be recognized.
