The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks (Grainfield, KS) and the visiting Dighton Hornets (Dighton, KS), saw Wheatland-Grinnell's volleyball squad nip Dighton by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Wheatland-Grinnell upgrades its record to 15-14 on the year. The Thunderhawks travel to Golden Plains (Rexford, KS) to play the Bulldogs in a Western Kansas Liberty bout on Tuesday, October 11. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 16-7.

The Hornets now own a 8-14 record. They play next when they host Wallace County for a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 4. Dighton will play a Wildcats squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Greeley County (Tribune, KS). The Wildcats record now stands at 10-14.
