The Laurel Spartans walloped the visiting Summit Academy Knights football team by a score of 63-8 in Friday's league test.

The Spartans now hold a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shenango for a WPIAL A Big 7 challenge on Friday, October 10. Laurel will face a Wildcats team coming off a 13-12 league win over Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-4.

With the defeat, Summit Academy drops to 1-6 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Northgate (Pittsburgh, PA) to meet the Flames in a WPIAL A Big 7 test on Friday, October 10.
