New Mexico High School Football - Mountainair can't get by Magdalena

In Friday's league match, the host Magdalena Steers football squad scored a close 28-25 victory over the Mountainair Mustangs.

The Steers (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Da Vinci (El Paso, TX). The Dragons enter the non-league match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Da Vinci tipped Buena Vista (Imperial, TX), 52-32, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Mustangs confront the Animas Panthers (Animas, NM) in a 6-Man District 2 (6 Man) match, on Friday, October 10. Mountainair will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Panthers go into the battle with a 5-1 record after their 58-19 non-league win over Reserve (Reserve, NM).
