In Friday's league game, the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks (Murrieta, CA) football team overcame the host Norco Cougars (Norco, CA), by a final score of 55-45.

With the win, Murrieta Valley advances its record to 5-1 on the season. The Nighthawks host Chaparral (Temecula, CA) to encounter the Pumas in a Big West - Upper bout on Friday, October 10. The Pumas go into the bout with a record of 3-3. Chaparral won 28-20 in their recent league bout against Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, CA)

The Cougars now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Roosevelt for a Big West - Upper bout on Friday, October 10. Norco will encounter a Mustangs team coming off a 62-20 league loss to Centennial (Corona, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-3.
