October 4, 2024: Lovingston, VA 22949 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) and the visiting William Campbell Generals (Naruna, VA), witnessed Nelson County's football squad edge William Campbell by a tally of 50-44.
The Governors (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA). The Raiders enter the Dogwood contest with a 0-6 record. In their last contest, Appomattox County was nudged by Altavista (Altavista, VA), 29-8, in a league contest.
Coming up next, the Generals battle the Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) in a Dogwood contest, on Friday, October 11. William Campbell will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Cavaliers enter the contest with a 2-2 record after their 34-21 non-league loss to Patrick County (Stuart, VA).
