In Thursday's league battle, the host Amarillo Sandies football team scored a big 45-10 win over the Caprock Longhorns.

With the win, Amarillo improves its record to 5-2 on the season. The Sandies travel to Coronado (Lubbock, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 5A-1 Region I District 2 battle on Thursday, October 23. The Mustangs go into the match with a record of 0-7.

Coming up next, the Longhorns meet the Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A-1 Region I District 2 match, on Friday, October 17. Caprock will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Mustangs come into the match with a 0-7 record after their 35-6 league loss to Abilene (Abilene, TX).
