Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the host Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC), 5-1 in a league test.

With the triumph, Monroe moves its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Redhawks travel to Independence (Charlotte, NC) to meet the Patriots in a non-league test on Monday, October 13. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 9-3. Independence won 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Ballantyne Ridge (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Yellow Jackets confront the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a Rocky River 4A/5A test, on Monday, October 13. Forest Hills will attempt to move on its 2-10 season record.
