The Goreville Blackcats edged the host Murphysboro Red Devils volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league game.

Next up, the Blackcats confront the Sesser-Valier Red Devils (Sesser, IL) in a Black Diamond West match, on Monday, October 13. Goreville will attempt to move on its 18-9 season record. The Red Devils enter the match with a 4-17 record after their 2-0 league loss to Trico (Campbell Hill, IL).
