Texas High School Football - Mount Vernon nips Pottsboro

In Friday's league match, the visiting Mount Vernon Tigers football squad scored a close 45-38 victory over the Pottsboro Cardinals.

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Gladewater Bears (Gladewater, TX) in a non-league match, on Friday, November 10. Mount Vernon will attempt to move on its 7-3 season record. The Bears enter the match with a 3-7 record after their 50-7 league win over White Oak (White Oak, TX).

The Cardinals (8-2) will now prepare for their match against Jefferson (Jefferson, TX). The Bulldogs enter the non-league match with a 7-2 record. In their last match, Jefferson held off Sabine (Gladewater, TX), 56-21, in a league match.
