Memorial Mustangs (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Alief Hastings Bears (Houston, TX), 67-16 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Memorial upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Mustangs host Strake Jesuit (Houston, TX) to play the Fighting Crusaders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 15. The Fighting Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Strake Jesuit lost 60-52 in their recent non-league bout against Bellaire (Bellaire, TX)

Next up, the Bears play the Iowa Colony Pioneers (Arcola, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 15. Alief Hastings will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 57-46 non-league win over Kashmere (Houston, TX).
