November 17, 2023: Spring Valley, CA 91978 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) and the visiting Coronado Islanders (Coronado, CA), saw Steele Canyon's basketball squad hold off Coronado by a count of 71-66.
With the victory, Steele Canyon upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Calexico (Calexico, CA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, November 21. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 2-0. Calexico won 74-21 in their recent non-league challenge against Cathedral City (Cathedral City, CA)
Next up, the Islanders play the Montgomery Aztecs (San Diego, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, November 21. Coronado will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Aztecs come into the challenge with a 3-0 record after their 89-53 non-league win over Alemany (Mission Hills, CA).
