Texas High School Basketball - Roma thwarts Zapata
November 21, 2025: Roma, TX 78584 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Roma Gladiators (Roma, TX) and the visiting Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX), observed Roma's basketball team knock off Zapata by a score of 46-35.
The Gladiators (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Hidalgo Early College (Hidalgo, TX). The Pirates come into the non-league challenge with a 4-2 record. In their last challenge, Hidalgo Early College was knocked off by Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX), 44-36, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Hawks encounter the St. Augustine Knights (Laredo, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, November 25. Zapata will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 56-53 non-league win over Incarnate Word Academy (Corpus Christi, TX).
