New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Groveton Indians (Groveton, TX), 60-32 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, New Waverly upgrades its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Tarkington (Cleveland, TX) to play the Longhorns in a 3A Region III District 23 bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Longhorns come into the bout with a record of 3-3.

Next up, the Indians play the Leggett Pirates (Leggett, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 29. Groveton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 57-13 non-league loss to Martinsville (Martinsville, TX).
