Texas High School Basketball - Trinity ripped by New Waverly
January 24, 2023: New Waverly, TX 77358 The New Waverly Bulldogs basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Trinity Tigers to 9 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 14-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Anderson-Shiro for a 3A Region III District 23 contest on Friday, January 27. New Waverly will battle a Fighting Owls team coming off a 66-55 league win over Crockett (Crockett, TX). The Fighting Owls record now stands at 14-9.
The Tigers (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against Onalaska (Onalaska, TX). The Wildcats enter the 3A Region III District 23 contest with a 3-16 record. In their last contest, Onalaska was routed by Shepherd (Shepherd, TX), 47-41, in a league contest.
