In Friday's non-league contest, the host Northwest Halifax Vikings basketball team scored a close 45-41 triumph over the Nash Central Bulldogs.

The Vikings (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Northampton County (Gaston, NC). The Jaguars go into the 1A Tar Roanoke contest with a 0-0 record.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Beddingfield Bruins (Wilson, NC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, December 4. Nash Central will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record.
