In Friday's non-league outing, the Progreso Red Ants (Progreso, TX) basketball squad felled the visiting Lasara Lions (Lasara, TX), by a margin of 59-47.

The Red Ants (5-2) will now prepare for their outing against IDEA Frontier College Prep (Brownsville, TX). The go into the 3A Region IV District 32 outing with a 0-1 record. In their last outing, IDEA Frontier College Prep was beaten by Roma (Roma, TX), 71-8, in a non-league outing.
