Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC) and the host Copper Basin Cougars (Copperhill, TN), saw Hiwassee Dam's basketball squad hold off Copper Basin by a tally of 59-52.

With the victory, Hiwassee Dam improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Swain County (Bryson City, NC) to confront the Maroon Devils in a 1A Smoky Mountain challenge on Tuesday, December 5. The Maroon Devils come into the challenge with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Cougars confront the Gordon Central Warriors (Calhoun, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, November 30. Copper Basin will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 3-0 record after their 62-42 non-league win over Coosa (Rome, GA).
