In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Pope County Pirates basketball team scored a decisive 71-37 triumph over the Century Centurions.

In their next game, the Pirates meet the Crab Orchard Trojans (Marion, IL) in a Greater Egyptian match, on Friday, December 2. Pope County will attempt to better on its 4-0 season record.
