West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 45-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Wilkes upgrades its record to 1-2 on the season. The Blackhawks travel to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 1-0. East Wilkes won 63-55 in their recent non-league bout against Triad Baptist Christian Academy (Kernersville, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 1. Alleghany will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 88-58 non-league loss to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC).
