North Carolina High School Basketball - Alleghany fells Starmount

February 7, 2024: Boonville, NC 27011

Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC), 57-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Alleghany upgrades its record to 8-13 on the season. The Trojans host Elkin (Elkin, NC) to clash with the Buckin' Elks in a 1A Northwest bout on Friday, February 9. The Buckin' Elks go into the bout with a record of 4-16. Elkin lost 56-44 in their recent league bout against Starmount (Boonville, NC)

Next up, the Rams clash with the South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) in a 1A Northwest bout, on Friday, February 9. Starmount will attempt to upgrade on its 8-12 season record. The Sauras go into the bout with a 20-1 record after their 85-58 non-league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).
