North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence bests South Mecklenburg

December 6, 2024: Charlotte, NC 28210

The Independence Patriots basketball team scored 62 points and limited the host South Mecklenburg Sabres to 51 in the Patriots non-league triumph on Friday.

The Patriots now possess a 6-0 record. They play next when they host A.C. Reynolds for a non-league game on Saturday, December 7. Independence will confront a Rockets team coming off a 73-70 non-league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Rockets record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, South Mecklenburg falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Sabres travel to Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to confront the Patriots in a non-league game on Wednesday, December 11. The Patriots go into the game with a record of 3-2.
