The South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) basketball edged the host Palisades Pumas (Charlotte, NC), 72-67 in Friday's league bout.

The Sabres now possess a 7-7 record. They play next when they host Ardrey Kell for a 4A South Meck bout on Friday, January 10.

With the loss, Palisades falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Pumas host Olympic (Charlotte, NC) to play the Trojans in a 4A South Meck bout on Tuesday, January 7.
